FAT OLLIE'S BOOK

Detective Oliver Wendell Weeks is on his way to the local copy shop to have all but the last chapter of his finished novel REPORT TO THE COMMISSIONER copied when his radio erupts with a call for rapid mobilization. It appears that City Councilman Lester Henderson has been shot and killed on stage while rehearsing for a rally that night. But worse than that, when Ollie goes back to his car, he discovers that someone has broken in and stolen the dispatch case bearing his precious manuscript!
